TTC Service.-The Caribbean has always been a popular golf destination.
It is true that currently in the region there are more options than ever for golfers.
The Dominican Republic is today one of the best golf destinations in the world. Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas are also important destinations to play golf. Two other countries, Cuba and Haiti, are taking serious steps in order to receive more golfers on vacation or not.
But not all tourists like golf.
For example, Aruba is already a favorite of the so-called rugby football in cities as Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and others in the United States.
That island guarantees a perfect climate for rugby, and also luxury hotels and resorts to serve players visitors. A meeting in Aruba on that rough sport already announced for December 2018 is expected to be attend by more than 450 coaches, executives, administrators and exhibitors.
The centerpiece of the meeting is a tournament considered to be the oldest in the Caribbean in which some of the best teams of men’s and women’s clubs from all over the world will be presented.
Teams from Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe and other Caribbean islands such as Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Lucia have already indicated their intention to participate.
Football Soccer on the other hand, also ranks as one of the most popular team sports in the Caribbean. Almost every country encourages a national team and some have managed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Cricket, not very well known in America, is nevertheless the most popular sport in the British Caribbean. The Antilles govern cricket in the Caribbean and good stadiums for the sport can be found in Antigua, Barbados, Granada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Trinidad and Tobago, islands that were hosts in the Cricket World Cup in 2007.
The baseball very powerful in the United States, has millions of followers mainly in the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Puerto Rico.
The Caribbean Baseball Series is the most important event in the region. In 2017, the champions of the National Series of Cuba, the Dominican Professional Baseball League, the Mexican Pacific League, the Professional Baseball League of Puerto Rico and the Professional Baseball League of Venezuela attended. It took place from the 1st to the 7th of February 2017 at the Nuevo Estadio Tomateros in Culiacán, Mexico.
The regional climate also favors the practices of sports such as kite surfing and windsurfing, sailing, diving, exploration, paddleboard and others. Tourists can find adventure activities that include bungee jumping, zip lines and hiking trails, water adventures such as snorkeling.
Sports tourism provides host countries with a large media coverage. This coverage not only covers sporting events, but also provides important information about the cultures and possibilities of tourism in each place along with a general profile.
That means more annual income due to tourism.
