With our sights set on tourism’s recovery and the changes that this industry is experiencing, our first edition of this year is dedicated to the FITUR 2022 International Tourism Fair.

This issue highlights the actions of the World Tourism Organization in favor of a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable sector; initiatives of the Caribbean Tourism Organization for a better preparation of the area’s professionals, as well as considerations about the future of the MICE segment by various personalities interviewed by TTC.

In addition, the director of the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS), Silvia Avilés Giraud, gave us her assessments of the trends that mark the path of reactivation, based on the experiences contributed by this event in its most recent edition.

On the other hand, Javier Fernandez Ruiz, general director for the Caribbean of the Spanish chain ROC Hotels, tells us about the projections for this year and the efforts to offer safe tourism with high quality standards.

Also in the news are the updated data of the Spanish chains that manage hotels in the Caribbean, new air connections between Spain and the region, and the projections of the Mexican Caribbean with respect to the Spanish market, among other topics.

Worth highlighting is the article dedicated to the Center for the Interpretation of Cultural Relations Cuba-Europe: Palace of the Second Corporal, which, from Old Havana, stands as a museum according to the new times and helps to understand the cultural and heritage ties that unite the old and the new continent.

Proposals from travel agencies, hotel groups, options for sun and beach, health and city tourism; as well as information from the business sector complete this special edition.
