Tourism and love came together again in 2022 to celebrate “Valentine Day” under measures that the “combat against Covid-19” still requires.

“Cupid never rest,” predicted a Caribbean tour operator when the traditional celebration was expected for last Monday, when many vacationers joined.

“Romantic dinner or an exciting getaway”. Don’t stay home and challenge Omicron monster,” a Caribbean restaurant announced to attract guests on February 14.

The most dynamic islands in the area assumed the date with optimism, although added the necessary measures to avoid virus news outbreaks. However, the impression of the industry is that it was a dynamic day and indeed a reopening one.

In Cuba, a few hours before the celebration, the local press highlighted that Cuban tourism agency Havanatur had come forward with new offers in some of the best hotels on the island.

Under the promise of turning the date into a perfect day, Havanatur offered several hotels of the Iberostar chain. Under the hash tag #DíadelAmorconHavanatur, the chain announced on its networks the opportunity for these reservations, which could be made online or from its offices.

Hotel offers were lead by Havana, Varadero, Villa Clara and Holguín, all of five stars mode.
Europe raised curtains on the show that day with concerts and celebrations. In the United States and Canada, a well-targeted advertising campaign paid dividends.

Marketing specialists in those countries disclosed the wealth of February on a week with favorable dates to increase the diminished income of the leisure industry due to the pandemic.

A good examples was February 9, considered by these and other European markets as Chocolate Day, when Valentine gifts are make with that delicacy of the gods.

February 10 has been declared as Teddy Day when lovers exchange toys, such as teddy bears.

February 11th celebrates Promise Day and on the 12th a Hug Day, without needs for additional explanations.

In the same case is February 13 as the day of the kiss, a really fast track up to Valentine’s Day.

It goes without saying that many put aside the annoying face mask, the industry worldwide continued to search for ways for a stable reopening in the face of the risks that were still faced, especially due to the modalities of the coronavirus.

So we hope all of you also enjoyed a happy Valentines Day 2022
