A musical interpretation contest, great concerts, and other activities will enhance the cultural bond that unites both nations during the San Remo Music Awards Cuba, which will be held in Havana from April 5 to 10.

In statements to Cuban national television, its main promoter, Jorge Luis Robaina, director of the Karamba group, gave details about the event, which will have as its main course the contest that will show the interpretive talent of artists from the Caribbean island, both amateurs as well as professionals, with the aim of internationalizing their work.

Robaina stressed that four galas have been prepared, each with its own particularity, in which tribute will be paid to important Italian artists such as Raffaella Carrà and others highly admired in Cuba.

Another important moment will take place on Galeano Street in the country’s capital, also known as Avenida Italia, where a great popular show will take place.

The idea of bringing the San Remo Music Awards to the island stems from the collaboration between Jorge Luis Robaina and several Italian cultural promoters, given the close links between both nations; a project that this artist has developed under the auspices of the Cuban Ministry of Culture, in the form of the Musical Recordings and Editions Company (EGREM). The Cuban Ministry of Tourism, of Foreign Trade and the Chamber of Commerce, among other entities, also have joined this effort. It also has the support of national and international cultural promoters.

San Remo Music Awards Cuba, although it has as its fundamental reference the internationally recognized Italian song contest, presents a very particular structure, always based on disseminating the Italian life philosophy to the world.

It will then be a fruitful cultural exchange, a unique encounter of the arts, which for the first time reaches Cuba.
