New York.- The Royal Caribbean officially launched the Harmony, the world’s largest cruise ship, in a party on Friday May 20, before the ship departs on its inaugural cruise on Sunday May 22.
Harmony is a 5,479-capacity ship from the STX France shipyard in Saint-Nazaire. It is the world’s largest cruise ship at 227,000 tones and has cost more than $1 billion to build. Sister ships Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Sea were launched in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
