The Cuba Tourist Board says Cuba has officially welcomed more than a million Canadian visitors over the course of the 2019 travel season. Following in the foot steps of a very strong 2018, the confirmation of this accomplishment came on December 4th, the exact day as last year’s 1,000,000 Canadian arrivals achievement was met.

“Coming off of the highly anticipated Havana 500 celebrations, there is a heightened excitement and energy in the air,” said Lessner Gomez, Director of the Cuba Tourist Board. “We are both excited and humbled to have had the opportunity to accommodate so many guests in 2019 and look forward to sharing the unique spirit of Cuba with more of our Canadian friends in 2020.”

Cuba continues to be an intriguing, rich in culture and dynamic destination for all travellers. It was the opening of brand-new luxury hotels, the investment in the refurbishment of properties and the devoted endeavor by Cuba’ tourism industry, that all culminated together to create strong 2019 travel results. With more plans to continue the development and expansion of the beloved Caribbean island nation, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming year.
