With the Recovery of Tourism as its central theme and dedicated especially to Fitur 2021, TTC is presenting the May-June edition (bilingual in Spanish and English) of its Digital Newspaper, which is hosted and available for download in the ISSU virtual library, recognized among the world’s best.

You can access it from the TTC websites www.traveltradecaribbean.es / www.traveltradecaribbean.com.

This number is also promoted in our weekly electronic newsletter and on the social networks Facebook (@TTCaribbean), Instagram (traveltradecaribbean and traveltradecaribbeanrd) and LinkedIn (TTC Travel Trade Caribbean).

The central theme that heads this issue of the TTC Digital Newspaper agrees with the vocation of Fitur 2021, Special Tourism Recovery edition, convened from May 19 to 23 at its usual IFEMA – Feria de Madrid venue, about which we give details of its areas and main sections.

This edition of the Digital Newspaper is focused on the prime actions that occupy all tourism actors in the world: designing and implementing strategies to reactivate the tourism industry while controlling the proliferation of the pandemic.

With sights set on the recovery of tourism in the global sphere, the trends and forecasts are summarized based, fundamentally, on the analyzes and forecasts of the World Tourism Organization; and, in particular for the Caribbean region, the tentative forecasts of the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

Likewise, the strategies directed by the International Civil Aviation Organization and the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association are outlined in order to reanimate international travel.

Regarding Cuba, there is the special collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism; you will find the arguments that support that the island is reaffirmed as a safe tourist destination; some offers from the Cuban Medical Services Marketing Company; and the culture of coffee in Cuba’s eastern region, according to the proposal of the Office of the Curator of the City of Santiago de Cuba.

Also noteworthy in these pages is the exclusive interview with Frank Rafael Rainieri Marranzini, president, CEO and founder of Grupo Puntacana S.A. of the Dominican Republic.

It also contains the presence of the main Spanish hotel chains in the most important destinations in the Caribbean region. In particular, Iberostar and ROC Hotels present their protocols and initiatives to resume operations in Cuba, guaranteeing due sanitary control.

Thanks to the collaboration of the Secretariat of Tourism of Quintana Roo, another of the topics we recommend reading are those related to the Mexican Caribbean, a destination that is intensifying actions to guarantee the safety of visitors; and resumed or announced air connections in the Caribbean and Latin America.

No less important is the vision offered on the guidelines to recover MICE Tourism in the present circumstances, together with the call for the 37th Congress of the Federation of Congress Organizers and Related Entities of Latin America (COCAL), to be held in Punta Cana, from June 27 to 30.
