Jamaica Tourism working to make carnival more marketable

Kingston. – A meeting was held at the Spanish Court Hotel recently to discuss a partnership between various ministries such as the Ministries of Tourism, Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, and National Security to improve the Jamaica carnival experience to make it more marketable to visitors and locals alike.

Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett outlined his vision for the development of “Carnival in JAMAICA” and other entertainment initiatives, to Minister of National Security, Hon. Robert Montague; Senior Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Lloyd Waller; and Chairman of the Ministry of Tourism’s Sports and Entertainment Network, Kamal Bankay.

The Tourism Linkages Network will officially share the details of this multi-ministerial initiative at an upcoming launch in March. The move forms part of efforts to enhance and package various local entertainment offerings including activities during the Emancipation and Independence holiday period.

Minister of Tourism Hon.
