Russia and Cuba plans to expanding flights between both countries

Russia and Cuba considered to expanding their air communications, as agreed the head of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia), Alexander Neradko, and the island’s Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos Garcia.

In a meeting in Moscow, the Russian side reported the total availability of its airlines to resume flights to Cuba, taking into account the epidemiological situation in both countries, reported Rosaviatsia website.

Russia and Cuba confirmed the interest of their governments in developing and strengthening cooperation in the field of civil aviation, in a manner beneficial to both parties.

According to the published note Neradko and García analyzed the current situation of the limited number of flights to Cuba and highlighted the high mutual interest in developing bilateral cooperation in the field of air transport.

The meeting was attended by the Cuban ambassador in Moscow, Julio Garmendia, as well as representatives of the Foreign Ministry and the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergei Riabkov, and the Minister of Tourism of Cuba, analyzed ways to promote cooperation in that industry.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, a climate of friendship and respect inherent to the Russian-Cuban dialogue prevailed at the meeting and issues were discussed to further strengthen tourism ties in accordance with the spirit of strategic partnership and relations between allies.

Cuba participated in the Moscow International Tourism Fair (MITT 2021) together with a delegation from the Caribbean nation made up of representatives of hotel chains, tour operators and travel agents.

The main objective of the Cuban presence at MITT 2021 was to promote Russian airline flights to the island, especially Aeroflot, and promote the reopening of more tourist destinations for travelers from this nation.

García told Prensa Latina that Cuba has the sanitary security conditions required to receive more vacationers from Russia, whose market appears in the first position along with Canada.
