As of November 1st, 2022, Cuba extends the validity of the Cuban tourist card, or tourist visa, so that tourists can now stay on the island for 90 days on one issued tourist card.

Until now, a tourist card, or tourist visa, for Cuba has given travelers the opportunity to stay on the island for a total of 30 days, with the possibility to extend the tourist card for another 30 days while in the country.

From November 1st, 2022, the duration of the tourist card to Cuba has changed.

As of this date, tourists will be able to stay in Cuba for up to 90 days with one tourist card (one entry), instead of the previous limit of 30 days.

The tourist card can also be extended for another 90 days, meaning tourists can legally travel to and in Cuba for a total of 180 days, without leaving the island.

This announcement was made on Sunday 31st of October on Twitter by the Cuban Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, and now is on official pages.

The tourist card rules for Canadians visiting Cuba have been different from the tourist card regulations for other countries before these changes.

Canadians have been able to stay in Cuba for up to 180 days also before these changes were implemented.

So for Canadian tourists traveling to Cuba, nothing has changed, they are still able to visit Cuba and stay for up to 180 days.
