The well-known brand of light rums from Cuba, Havana Club, was awarded important recognitions in international competitions this month, said a company statement.

According to Radio Havana Cuba (RHC) these awards validate leadership among the best spirits products in the world.

The firm received six medals at The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2022, a competition organized by the British publication The Spirits Business, the only international magazine and website dedicated to spirits as such.

The Master’s degree, the highest award given, went to the Havana Club Selection of Masters, followed by three Gold and two Silver medals for other products from the same company.

Among the winners are the Havana Club Añejo 7 Years (Gold), Havana Club Añejo 3 Years (Gold), Havana Club Verde (Gold), Havana Club Añejo Especial (Silver) and Havana Club Spiced (Silver).

The Rum & Cachaça Masters aimed to find and reward the best brands of rum and cachaça (product of Brazil) on the world stage. In a blind tasting, a panel of leading specialists judged the candidates to discover the Masters of Rum and Cachaça of 2022.

On the other hand, the PLD 2022 Innovation Awards focused on packaging, awarded by the prestigious PLD Paris Show (France), awarded the highest award in two categories to Havana Club.

As for the Mass Market Liquor Award, it was won by the Havana Club Añejo 7 Años Botella Dorada, and for E-commerce, they designated the Havana Club Party Pack.

Currently, such a product can be purchased on the online sales site www.ronencasa.com (17 Euros). Meanwhile, the module for parties is not yet available in Cuba.

Launched in 2020, the PLD Innovation Awards recognize the world’s best packaging innovations across all types of premium and luxury beverages (in the last year), considering the dominant in packaging for the full range of beverages.

The award categories cover all aspects of the market and recognize achievements in technical innovation, sustainable development, decoration, and consumer experience, among other aspects.

Serving the jury is a group of highly influential packaging directors from some of the industry’s best-known brand owners, alongside internationally renowned design experts such as Coca-Cola, Havana Club, Remy Cointreau, Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët and Moët Hennessy.

With these awards, Havana Club adds 344 medals to its record since 1994, a brand in constant evolution, innovative and with proven levels of quality in its productions, the report concludes.

Havana Club International S.A, constitutes a joint venture between Pernod Ricard of France and the local producer Cuba Ron, an association created in 1993 and with outstanding results in global markets.
