Passaretti announced that after more than five years of working in Cuba they have decided to open a branch on the island to bring over freight of Mediterranean origin. This interest has been favored by the opening soon of the Mariel Port, which can be an opportunity for development for the shipping companies.
Regarding the opportunities offered by FIHAV 2013, he commented that the fair is a very good scenario for the presentation to the Cuban market. He explained that Gastaldi Holding represents for Cuba an occasion to develop international traffic services of container lines, as well as the opportunity for its businesspeople to expand to new markets.
In that sense he cited the maritime agencies, truck transportation and operator terminals as one of the services that the Italian company can bring to the island, whose commercial sector has shown interest regarding the subject.
Moreover, he defined as his company’s mission the placing at the disposition of Cuban businesspeople Gastaldi’s professionalism.
Gaetano Passaretti highlighted among the immediate projects promoting the development of the economic contracts between Cuba and China, as well as establishing a maritime transportation route between Cuba and Turkey, where businesspeople have difficulty in getting to the Caribbean nation. Regarding the subject, he specified that the possible itinerary of the route could be Havana-Salerno; Salerno-Istanbul and Istanbul-Turkey.
