The Dominican Republic, a partner country of FITUR 2022, has become one of the most attractive travel destinations in the world that combine business and pleasure, and in which MICE tourism is a value clearly on the rise.

The high number of visitors, the highest in the region, reflects the country’s efforts to continually improve all aspects of the visitor experience, from accommodation to highways, entertainment, historical and cultural preservation, and spaces for meetings and conventions.

With the most varied landscape in the Caribbean, from sea to mountains, valleys, dunes and endless white sandy beaches, as well as a wide variety of accommodation options, a modern transportation infrastructure and workspaces, and an abundance of attractions, the Dominican Republic has no problem combining work and leisure, as pointed out by the country’s Ministry of Tourism. In fact, MICE tourism clearly represents a value on the rise.

Its high number of visitors, the highest in the region, currently more than 6 million a year, reflects “the country’s efforts to continually improve all aspects of the visitor experience, from accommodation to highways, entertainment, historical and cultural preservation, and spaces for meetings and conventions.”

Added to this are 8 international airports, which make it the best-connected destination in the Caribbean, and a hotel inventory of more than 80,000 rooms, which significantly facilitates group or incentive travel.
