Dominican Republic Asks that the Schengen be Take Away
The Dominican Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Adavit) and Eurocámara, which groups together the Chambers of European Commerce, hopes to request from the European Union that the Schengen visa be eliminated as a requisite for Dominicans to be able to visit those nations.

The representatives of Adavit affirm that such an action can materialize as it has been done with other Latin American countries with economies similar to that of the Dominican.

It is estimated that without that visa the Dominican Republic’s travel agencies could sell with less obstacles destinations of the 27 countries of the European Union.

With this objective a movement called “Quítame la Schengen” (Take Away the Schengen) has been created that calls on Dominicans to approach travel agencies to sign the petition application to the Dominican Foreign Ministry so that it officially request from the European Union that it eliminate the Schengen visa for citizens of the Caribbean country.
