Haiti is continuing to look to Latin American countries for help as it seeks to build its tourism sector.
The new Intercontinental franchise is the brainchild of Grupo Poma, which is based in El Salvador. The company is building the hotel through its Real Hotel and Resorts division, which currently operates 19 hotel properties in the Western Hemisphere.
The Oasis at Sunset is a 124-room boutique hotel adjoining existing Sunset Beach Resort Spa & Waterpark. The hotel said its features would include a private beach with an au naturale hideaway, king beds in every room and “upgraded furnishings.”
Hiti’s Tourism Ministry is planning to send a mission to New Orleans in the middle of this month, with the goal of enhancing cooperation between the two sides.
