Bandera: Artex’s Newest Collection of Items

Artex, the Cuban company in charge of artistic and literary promotions, which will celebrate its 27th anniversary on April 1st, recently showed the national media its new Bandera (Flag) project, developed by its importing division, Comercial Lauros.

Bandera project comprises a brand-new collection of items -souvenirs and textiles- which show the work of Cuban artist Michel Mirabal, whose main element is the Cuban flag. Caps, shirts, tee-shirts, bottle openers, cases, steins, mugs, among other products, can already be acquired at Artex’s store network.

Michel Mirabal, who graduated at the Design School, started to paint 20 years ago. Since he’s committed to his people and time, this artist paints the Cuban flag. His technique expresses strength, as well as his colors: red, white and blue. He defragments them in his paintings, blends and separates these colors among petals of rose, bullet shells cases and thorns, in a constant process that builds the reality of the island.

So Bandera joins Artex’s collections of items, which already comprises household goods, Arte en Casa, Yo Amo Cuba souvenirs, fashions, Cubali and Natural Cuba. This year, the last two celebrate their 5th and 15th anniversaries, respectively.

The fact is that Artex, the Cuban company devoted to export and import cultural goods and services, keeps on growing… always with the aim of promoting and marketing the very best of Cuban art.

– La Internacional: Obispo no 526. Old Havana.
– El Sauce: Av. 9ª no 12015 Playa.
