Hilton Plans to Build ... Hilton Plans to Build 60 Hotels in Mexico
The U.S. Hilton Hotels Corp. announced it plans to build 60 hotels in Mexico in the next five years as part of its plans to increase fourfold its presence in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The company outlined the expansion project in a press release in which it reported that it envisages “an important growth” in Mexico, where it would build more than a third of the 150 hotels it plans to build in the region by 2013.Hilton currently owns 19 hotels in Mexico under different brand names. These hotels will expand in the main beach resorts, the country’s capital and big cities. Expansion plans in Latin America and the Caribbean are part of Hilton’s strategy to add 1,000 hotels to its international division in 10 years.
