Antigua Authorities to Promote Tourism as a Career among High-School Students

St. John's.- Antigua and Barbuda tourism authorities are giving the finishing touches to the agenda of the forum Explore Careers in Tourism to attract to the sector most of the 50 students that will be in attendance, according to A & B Government News. Slated for this week, the event will provide participants with an overview of tourism and careers in tourism.
"Explore Careers in Tourism will allow the students to interact with real people who are holding real jobs in the industry, during face-to-face meetings and discussions", anticipated Manager in the Tourism Education, Training and Awareness Unit, Cynthia Simon. According to her, the program is a unique opportunity for students to explore their aspiration regarding a career in tourism, and to gain insight into career paths and occupations of tourism professionals.
Industry partners and stakeholders have confirmed attendance at sessions focusing on hospitality and tourism management, food and beverage, transportation and the tourism services sectors. "The development of the tourism industry relies on us engaging suitably skilled professionals to work in the various sectors", said Simon.
