Antigua and Barbuda celebrated World Tourism Day
St John.- The Caribbean Islands Antigua and Barbuda celebrated the World Tourism Day in collaboration with ABS Television channel.The day's programming past 27/9 iniciated with an official speech coming from Tourism Minister the Hon. John Maginley focus on the theme for this year's event which is "Celebrating Diversity". The feature was a thirty minute presentation entitled Rhodes across the Caribbean "The Antiguan Experience". This culinary show features European Chef Gary Rhodes who has Caribbean parentage and he journeys to a number of Caribbean islands "on a quest to demystify the region's colorful and vibrant cuisine."
In Antigua, Gary meets Prime Minister the Hon. Baldwin Spencer, an avid home cook, who is keen to hold a buffet for Gary displaying all the tasty traditional foods that the island has to offer, an official report said.
The main activity to commemorate World Tourism Day in Antigua and Barbuda was the first ever Staycations Expo held at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Center on Saturday September 26th 2009. (Source: A & B Government News)
