Crucial Barbados Tourist Industry in time of crisis
Bridgetown. - Barbadian Minister of Tourism, Richard Sealy, said the success of the tourism industry will determine the impact of the current global economic and financial crisis on Barbados.Sealy urged tourism workers to recognize the importance of their contribution in the goal.
Addressing last week the annual Barbados Tourism Awards Gala at Ilaro Court, Sealy said: "The robust nature and the rather nominal impact the crisis has had on Barbados is as a consequence of the tremendous work that has been done by ordinary Barbadians who work in the tourism industry".
"The Barbados’ tourism industry is our industry and we should consider it a privilege to reward those whose hard work assures us of a comfortable future . . . . This industry has made considerable contribution to the social and economic wellbeing of Barbados." he added. (Source: Daily Mail)
