Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Web Site Launching: a Happy Day for the Ministry

St John. - Sharon Peters, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, said that the launching of the new tourism web site www.tourismantiguabarbuda.gov.ag was "a happy day for the ministry" as new doors open for promoting the destination.
According to Peters, the web site is among many projects on the agenda of the ministry in 2009 and it will help maintain Antigua and Barbuda's position as a top tourism destination. Through audio-visual applications with pieces of news and information, the site targets tourism stakeholders, the media and prospective travelers.
Along with keeping tourism players up to date with the happenings in the sector and on the development of standards in the industry, the site is also aimed at raising awareness of tourism activities among Antiguans and Barbudans. Industry partners will also have a say in the new tool, since it will feature links to several industry partners' Web sites.
